Naturefund is a non-profit nature conservation organization founded in 2003, dedicated to purchasing and preserving land to protect diverse ecosystems and the myriad species they support. By acquiring meadows, forests, wetlands, and other natural habitats, Naturefund ensures these areas can develop undisturbed, safeguarding biodiversity for future generations. To date, the organization has secured over 1.5 million square meters of land globally.
In response to climate change, Naturefund emphasizes reforestation efforts both in Germany and internationally. Utilizing methods like Dynamic Agroforestry, they have planted more than 500,000 trees, restoring degraded landscapes and promoting sustainable agriculture. These initiatives not only enhance carbon sequestration but also provide local communities with sustainable livelihoods.
Through close collaboration with local partners, Naturefund combines land acquisition with active ecosystem restoration, ensuring long-term protection and resilience of natural habitats. Their vision encompasses the conservation of 3.5 million square kilometers worldwide, creating a network of protected areas to support global biodiversity.
