Cela est particuli\u00e8rement \u00e9vident sous les tropiques, o\u00f9 la culture de plantes de rente telles que le cacao dans des syst\u00e8mes agroforestiers est de plus en plus r\u00e9pandue. Parmi les syst\u00e8mes agroforestiers, la gestion biologique, qui \u00e9vite les intrants synth\u00e9tiques pour la protection des cultures et la fertilisation, ainsi que le concept d\u2019agroforesterie successionnelle (SA), qui vise \u00e0 accro\u00eetre le stockage du carbone en recourant \u00e0 des densit\u00e9s initiales \u00e9lev\u00e9es d\u2019arbres et \u00e0 une taille intensive sans intrants externes, suscitent un int\u00e9r\u00eat croissant en tant qu\u2019alternatives aux monocultures pr\u00e9sentant un impact environnemental moindre. Afin d\u2019\u00e9valuer l\u2019\u00e9volution temporelle du stockage du carbone dans des syst\u00e8mes agroforestiers g\u00e9r\u00e9s diff\u00e9remment, nous avons r\u00e9examin\u00e9 une exp\u00e9rience de terrain men\u00e9e sur 14 ans dans la r\u00e9gion de l\u2019Alto Beni, en Bolivie, afin de quantifier la biomasse et les stocks de carbone organique du sol (SOC) dans cinq syst\u00e8mes de production de cacao distincts. L\u2019essai sur le terrain comprend l\u2019AG ainsi que des monocultures biologiques et conventionnelles (MB et MC) et des syst\u00e8mes agroforestiers (AB et AC). Nous avons constat\u00e9 que tous les syst\u00e8mes agroforestiers avaient augment\u00e9 les stocks de carbone dans la biomasse et le sol, en particulier dans la fraction de mati\u00e8re organique particulaire. Aucun effet significatif des pratiques de gestion biologique n\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9. Au bout de 14 ans, c\u2019est dans le syst\u00e8me SA que l\u2019on a observ\u00e9 la plus forte teneur en carbone de la biomasse, tandis que les stocks de COT dans la couche arable ont augment\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re significative dans les syst\u00e8mes SA et CA. Nos r\u00e9sultats soulignent le potentiel d\u2019am\u00e9lioration de l\u2019accumulation de carbone dans les syst\u00e8mes agroforestiers pr\u00e9sentant une densit\u00e9 initiale d\u2019arbres \u00e9lev\u00e9e et faisant l\u2019objet d\u2019une taille rigoureuse, m\u00eame en l\u2019absence d\u2019engrais suppl\u00e9mentaires ou de produits phytosanitaires de synth\u00e8se.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Agroforestry systems are perceived as an effective approach to store carbon in agroecosystems by building tree biomass and raising soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks.
