La investigaci\u00f3n, llevada a cabo durante cinco a\u00f1os en Bolivia, compar\u00f3 el rendimiento de los clones locales con el de las variedades internacionales m\u00e1s utilizadas y descubri\u00f3 que los clones locales produc\u00edan entre dos y cinco veces m\u00e1s granos de cacao. Estos clones tambi\u00e9n ten\u00edan vainas m\u00e1s grandes y, por tanto, necesitaban menos vainas para conseguir el mismo peso de cacao, lo que hac\u00eda m\u00e1s eficiente la recolecci\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Estos resultados sugieren que invertir en la selecci\u00f3n gen\u00e9tica local puede aumentar la productividad de forma sostenible, ayudando a los agricultores a optimizar los rendimientos y a mantener la propiedad del material gen\u00e9tico adaptado.
