Um dieser Nachfrage gerecht zu werden, wurde die Anbaufl\u00e4che in tropischen Waldgebieten erweitert und die Produktion intensiviert, indem traditionelle Agroforstsysteme durch Monokulturen ersetzt wurden. Dies hat zu einem Verlust der Artenvielfalt in den Kakaoanbaugebieten gef\u00fchrt. Die Umsetzung nachhaltigerer landwirtschaftlicher Praktiken f\u00fcr die Kakaoproduktion, wie zum Beispiel \u00f6kologischer Landbau und Agroforstsysteme, h\u00e4ngt von der Rentabilit\u00e4t solcher Praktiken f\u00fcr die Landwirte ab.<\/p>\n<p>In dieser Studie werden die Produktivit\u00e4t und Rentabilit\u00e4t von Agroforstsystemen und Monokulturen in voller Sonne (mit zweij\u00e4hriger vor\u00fcbergehender Beschattung durch Kochbananen) im \u00f6kologischen und konventionellen Landbau f\u00fcr die ersten f\u00fcnf Jahre eines neu angelegten Langzeitversuchs in Alto Beni, Bolivien, verglichen. Die Ertr\u00e4ge von Kakao und Nebenkulturen (Kochbananen\/Bananen), die Kosten, die Erl\u00f6se und der Arbeitsaufwand wurden erfasst, und die Arbeitsrendite, d.\u202fh. der Ertrag pro Arbeitstag, wurde f\u00fcr jedes System gesch\u00e4tzt.<\/p>\n<p>Die Ergebnisse zeigten, dass die Kakaoertr\u00e4ge in den Monokulturen im Vergleich zu den Agroforstsystemen um etwa 40% h\u00f6her waren. Somit war die Arbeitsrendite \u00fcber die Jahre hinweg in den Agroforstsystemen etwa doppelt so hoch wie in den Monokulturen, obwohl Agroforstsysteme arbeitsintensiver waren als Monokulturen \u2013 vor allem aufgrund des Zeitaufwands f\u00fcr die Pflege der Schattenb\u00e4ume. Ma\u00dfnahmen zur Entwicklung und Erschlie\u00dfung von M\u00e4rkten, auf denen die Landwirte Nebenkulturen wie Bananen oder Kochbananen verkaufen k\u00f6nnen, sind daher entscheidend, um die Rentabilit\u00e4t der Agroforstsysteme sicherzustellen.<\/p>\n<p>Beim Vergleich von \u00f6kologischer und konventioneller Bewirtschaftung waren die Kakaoertr\u00e4ge und die Arbeitsrentabilit\u00e4t in den Agroforstsystemen bei beiden Bewirtschaftungsformen \u00e4hnlich. In den Monokulturen lagen die Kakaoertr\u00e4ge im \u00f6kologischen Landbau jedoch um fast 50% niedriger. Die Arbeitsrentabilit\u00e4t war hingegen \u00e4hnlich. Dies war haupts\u00e4chlich auf die geringeren Kosten der \u00f6kologischen Bewirtschaftung zur\u00fcckzuf\u00fchren. Dies k\u00f6nnte erhebliche Auswirkungen auf Kleinbauern haben, die in der Regel nur \u00fcber begrenzte Ersparnisse verf\u00fcgen und keinen Zugang zu Krediten haben.
