Die Analyse von 52 Artikeln ergab, dass die Kakaoertr\u00e4ge in Agroforstsystemen zwar etwa 25% niedriger sind als in Monokulturen, die Gesamtertr\u00e4ge des Systems - einschlie\u00dflich anderer Kulturen wie Fr\u00fcchte und Holz - jedoch etwa zehnmal h\u00f6her sind. Diese Diversifizierung tr\u00e4gt erheblich zur Ern\u00e4hrungssicherheit bei und bietet den Kleinbauern zus\u00e4tzliche Einkommensquellen. Au\u00dferdem speichern Agroforstsysteme 2,5-mal mehr Kohlenstoff als Monokulturen und tragen so zum Klimaschutz bei. Sie helfen auch bei der Klimaanpassung, indem sie die Durchschnittstemperaturen senken und Temperaturextreme abpuffern und so ein g\u00fcnstigeres Mikroklima f\u00fcr Kakaob\u00e4ume schaffen. Die Studie ergab keine signifikanten Unterschiede in der Bodenfruchtbarkeit zwischen den beiden Systemen, und das Auftreten von Sch\u00e4dlingen und Krankheiten variierte je nach Art.
